Basement Finishing: In Brookfield, WI

In Wauwatosa, WI, a homeowner who bought their house 2 years ago and heard about Total Basement Finishing on the radio is looking to update their partially finished basement, which currently features a 1970s-style bar and wood paneling. With 714 sq ft of space, they plan to transform the back area into an open concept office/sleeping space for their son, without the need for egress. The renovation will include the installation of Vinyl Covered Everlast Insulated Perimeter Walls, 520 sq ft of ThermalDry Elite Plank Flooring in Grey, and a SaniDry Sedona system. No ceiling work is required for this project.

Basement Finishing: In Greendale, WI

A homeowner in Greendale, WI, had an unfinished basement that he wanted to transform into a functional living space. Since purchasing the home in 2014, the homeowner and his family had occasionally experienced minor water issues in the basement, although they were not a consistent problem. Despite these concerns, Jim envisioned turning the basement into a recreation area, exercise room, and home office.

Initially, the homeowner considered adding a full bath to the basement. However, he decided instead to focus on maximizing the existing space and converting a half bath on the main floor into a full bath. The primary goal was to create a comfortable and practical environment for his family while addressing the basement's occasional water issues.

Our team approached the project by first addressing the moisture problem to ensure a dry and comfortable basement. We installed a Sanidry system to control humidity and prevent future water damage. To enhance the basement's aesthetics and functionality, we incorporated a painted ceiling and ThermalDry Elite Plank Flooring in Walnut, covering two-thirds of the 629-square-foot area. Additionally, recessed can lights were installed to provide ample lighting throughout the space.

By transforming the basement into a versatile area that includes a recreation space, an exercise room, and a home office, we were able to meet the homeowners needs without the addition of a new bathroom. The updated basement now serves as a beautiful, functional space that combines practicality and style, allowing the homeowner and his family to enjoy their home to the fullest.
